Red Lake Indian Reservation

The Red Lake Indian Reservation is located in the north-central Minnesota, in the USA. It is home to the Red Lake Band of Chippewa. The reservation has a number of different parts, covering 830,000 acres in northern Minnesota. One of the largest is the section that includes Upper Red Lake and Lower Red Lake. The reservation was formed in 1889.

March 2005 shootings

On March 21, 2005, Jeff Weise, a Red Lake High School student, shot dead ten people and injured several more. The gunman also killed himself.
