History may well count this guy as the greatest economic visionary that ever lived.

Not really

If there is ever a revolution in the United States and Michael Albert's Parecon takes power, count me out. Yikes.

"Greatest economic visionary?" How about "reality-avoiding socialist nut"? OK, he may not be a nut, and I apologize for the ad hominem comment--but I'm sticking to my guns on the other parts.
Parecon, like communism and all other forms of socialism, can never work because people don't work the way the theory holds they ought to. All forms of socialism ignore the reality of (most) people's desire to have more, to have something better than what their neighbor has. Take away the potential to lift yourself up by working hard, and you get a factory full of slackers. I base my comments on history: check out the performance of the G7 countries versus the USSR, or pre-Deng China, or the economic suckhole that is North Korea.
