Food poisoning

Food poisoning is a illness that resulted from consumption of food which has been improperly prepared or stored. It is usually distinguished from diseases such as hepatitis in which food is a vector for transmission of disease between humans.
Symptoms being several hours after ingestion and include nausea and diaherria. Most cases of food poisioning spontanously resolve themselves, but food poisioning can result in death especially in persons such as infants or the elderly who have weak immune systems. Food poisoning which results from a restaurant or other commericial eating place is especially of concern as it can effect large numbers of people.
