Nicholas Caradoc Hoult[1] (born December 7 1989) is an English film and television actor. He is known for playing Marcus in the film About a Boy and Tony in E4 drama Skins.

Hoult, the third of four children,[2] was born in Wokingham, Berkshire to Glenis, a piano teacher, and Roger Hoult, a pilot for British Airways.[3] His siblings are James, Rosie and Clarista.[4] He trained at the Sylvia Young Theatre School in London and made his film début as Bobby in the Boxer Films/Fox Searchlight picture Intimate Relations. Although About A Boy marked his first leading role in a feature film, he has worked since the age of eight in film, television and theatre.

Hoult attends Ranelagh sixth form in Bracknell, Berkshire. He cites Stagger Lee amongst the influences on the way he portrays Tony in Skins.
