Volkswagen (VW) is an automobile maker based in Wolfsburg, Germany, founded in the 1930s. The main model until the 1970s was the famous 'Beetle' (German: 'Käfer', US: 'Bug', French: 'Coccinelle'), designed by Ferdinand Porsche.

Volkswagen is part of the Volkswagen group (VAG), along with Audi, Bentley, Seat, Skoda and Lamborghini.
