This is a list of broadcast television stations serving cities in the state of New York, as of 2006-2007:

Buffalo Area

  • Channel 2: WGRZ - (NBC) - Buffalo, originally WGR prior to 1983.
  • Channel 4: WIVB - (CBS) - Buffalo, W IV=4 Buffalo, WBEN until 1973
  • Channel 7: WKBW-TV - (ABC) - Buffalo, News Channel 7 until 1997
  • Channel 17: WNED - (PBS) - Buffalo
  • Channel 23: WNLO - (The CW) - Buffalo, CW 23, originally independent and WNEQ (PBS), formerly UPN 23
  • Channel 25: WONS - (RTN) - Olean, New York, formerly UPN 25, W20AB, and W25AK; now a translator for WNGS (below)
  • Channel 26: WNYB - (TBN) - Jamestown, New York
  • Channel 29: WUTV - (FOX) - Buffalo, FOX 29, WNYT (independent) until the 1980s
  • Channel 49: WNYO - (MyNetworkTV) - Buffalo, My TV Buffalo, formerly Buffalo's WB 49
  • Channel 51: WPXJ - (ION) - Batavia, PAX 51
  • Channel 67: WNGS - (RTN) - Buffalo (Springville), formerly UPN 67(1997-2002), launched in 1996

  • Channel 10: WHEC - (Was originally a CBS affiliate until August of 1989 when it got pushed aside in favor of NBC) - Rochester 10NBC
  • Channel 13: WHAM-TV - (ABC) - Rochester. Originally WOKR prior to 2005
  • Channel 21: WXXI - (PBS) - Rochester, XXI=21
  • Channel 31: WUHF - (FOX) - Rochester, FOX Rochester
  • Channel 40: WBGT - (MyNetworkTV) - Rochester & points west and South, Big TV
  • RNEWS (9): 24-hour local news channel by Time Warner Cable
  • CW16: Rochester cable broadcast by Time Warner Cable of the CW network, and local sports & original programming
  • Channel 3: WSTM - (NBC) - Syracuse. Signed on as channel 5 in 1950, but moved to channel 3 a short time later.
