"Get Me Bodied" is a R&B song written by Beyoncé Knowles, Sean Garrett, Solange Knowles, Angela Beyince, Makeba, Willie Clarke and Clarence Reid for Beyoncé's second solo album, B'Day (2006). "Get Me Bodied" is also known for its six-minute extended version. The main edit started to gain U.S. radio airplay during the time when her next single "Beautiful Liar" was about to be released, and it first appeared on the U.S. Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 47. After about two months of moderate airplay it started to pick up more plays in the beginning of May 2007 and has so far has peaked on the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart at number 15. "Get Me Bodied" has also charted on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100 at number 89. Like her previous single "Upgrade U", "Get Me Bodied" was not released as an official single, but has gained so much airplay and success that it has been released simply as a promotional single.

Music Video

The music video for the song was for the extended mix. Beyoncé worked with director Anthony Mandler, producer Kim Bradshaw of Box Fresh Pictures, choreographers Rhapsody, Todd Sams, Clifford McGhee, and Bethany Strong. The feeling of the video is one of being at a club with friends, having a good time. For the shoot Beyoncé asked former Destiny's Child bandmates Kelly Rowland, Michelle Williams, and sister Solange to play her three friends in the video. Tina Knowles (Beyoncé's mother and stylist) made over 60 outfits for all of them. Because of scheduling, Beyoncé only had two days to shoot the entire video, which was inspired by the musical Sweet Charity.

Due to its length, the video has been re-edited into a shorter version for play on shows like BETs 106th and Park countdown. The video has become popular on many sites and tv channels, peaking as of May 25th, 2007 at number 10 on Yahoo!Music's Top 100 and number 3 on Yahoo!s RnB countdown (both peaks were attained with Beautiful Liar still holding the number 2 and number 1 spots respectively).

Charts

The song was never released to radio as an official single, but due to a popular video, the song garnered impressive airplay on its own merit due to requests initially. The song has become an official Top 20 R&B/Hip-Hop hit and has received heavy spins from Urban, Rhythmic and Urban Adult Contemporary radio formats.
