Brendon Ayanbadejo
Oladele Brendon Ayanbadejo (pronounced day-joe, not day-ho) (born September 6, 1976 in Chicago, Illinois) is an American football linebacker and special teams standout who currently plays for the Chicago Bears of the NFL. Brendon is half Nigerian.
High School Football
Ayanbadejo is a local legend at Santa Cruz High School. He wrote for the Santa Cruz Sentinel his first couple years in the NFL.
Professional career
He was an undrafted free agent out of UCLA, where he was first-team all Pac-10 his senior season with four sacks against arch-rival USC's Carson Palmer. In 2002 he played for the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League. During the 2005 offseason, he was traded from the Miami Dolphins to the Bears.
In 2006, he was nominated to the Pro Bowl as a member of the Special Teams squad
Personal
He is the younger brother of Arizona Cardinals fullback Obafemi Ayanbadejo. The two were teammates on the Miami Dolphins in 2003. They will once again play on the same team in 2007, this time for the Chicago Bears.
