Georg von der Gabelentz

Hans Conon von der Gabelentz (1807-1874) was a distinguished German philologist, born at Altenburg

It is said, that Von der Gabelentz was master of 80 languages. He wrote treatises on several of them, his most important work being on the Melanesian.
