Simon Downer (born 19 October 1981 in Romford, England) is an English footballer, currently playing for Grays Athletic. His previous clubs include Leyton Orient, Aldershot (loan) and Weymouth.

With a good reputation in his younger days, Downer was once on trial with Newcastle United. However Sir Bobby Robson decided against signing the then-19 year old Downer from Orient. He has had a lot of problems with both his knees, which have hampered his career, as he has already retired from football twice before. In between his 'retirements', Downer worked as a brick layer.

He plays in the centre-back or right back positions, and wears the #5 shirt.
