The following is an incomplete list of sports stadia in Europe. They are ordered by their capacity, that is the maximum number of spectators the stadium can accommodate.

Most large stadiums in Europe are used for Football (Soccer); a smaller number are used for Rugby Union and Gaelic Games.

Currently all stadia in Europe with a capacity of 30,000 or more are included. 30,000 is the minimum capacity required for a stadium to host matches in the UEFA European Football Championship finals. It is also the minimum capacity needed to be given a 4 star rating by UEFA, and host the UEFA Cup final.
