Permission from me. I am a personal friend of the Christian family. I am a personal friend of the biographers. I am one of them. Google "Charlie Christian Bonham Texas" or "Charlie Christian Revisited" or "Charlie Christian Jerry Jerome Interview" and I am the author. I am using my friend Craig McKinney's book as a source. I have permission from him. He didn't want to do this article on wiki for this very reason I am having trouble with. This article was in very poor historic shape and no one seemed to mind. I first checked it over one year ago (May 2006) and saw it needed so much work I was in no hurry to do it. No one questioned the content. No one questioned the photo. Now, I have taken the time to update it and run into problems with someone who has an authority problem. Is wikipedia about facts or is it about something else? Is it about you? They could use you at "uncyclopedia." I am tempted to delete my contribution. Thank you.Erviltnec 01:07, 5 June 2007 (UTC)

RSX 'Reality Synthesizer'
The changes I have made for quite some time now are consistent with the best reference for this graphics chip that I can find. It is here -> http://www.watch.impress.co.jp/game/docs/20060925/3d_tgs.htm
Use google or babelfish to translate if necessary. There are newer sites that list different information. The reason I keep pointing back to the Tokyo Game Show article, however, is simple: the newer sites with their different information are all listing information identical to older articles before the September 2006 Tokyo Game Show. The information listed at the site linked above is exact to what Sony announced at the September 2006 TGS. With only two months to go before the November roll-out date, there was not enough time to change specifications that are frequently listed at the earlier (and higher) figures, like the RAM and megahertz speeds, among other things. Many IPs have changed this data in formulas, already worked out by another IP user here months ago, but those making the spec changes are disregarding the results of the very formulas that they are altering, i.e. the 550MHz figure does not calculate to the result given.
Anyway, the Tokyo Game Show article is the most complete, accurate, and recent article that does not merely quote the much older and scaled-down specs that were originally announced on this video chip. If you translate the article and read it this is one of the first things they say--how the specs have been downgraded from what was both expected and announced. Aleksael 19:39, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
of nalts
Hello, it's me again. I believe Kevin Nalts (nalts) of YouTube fame has met the 'notable subject' criteria, so I believe the problem now is HOW! I don't know how to add hyperlinks and refer back to reliable sources. This wiki business is pretty confusing to the layperson. Do you recommend a good site or source on how to write an article for regular folks who simply do not 'get' all the jargon that goes along with this site? (For instance, the four tilde signature thing has me baffled. Do I use it now??? I don't know, let's find out! :)Ajani57 13:32, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
By golly it worked. There is hope for me yet! Ajani57 13:33, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
And I'm back! Been clicking around and I totally understand why my 'of nalts' article was speedily deleted. I do however believe that my addition of 'Kevin Nalts (nalts)' to the Sharing Revenue section of the YouTube page should stand. He DID make the program. I do not know how to verify it except for this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LJF4hq_0Swg where he announced to the community.

I've been keeping an eye on this guy all evening - this is about the 4th time he's recreated the same article, which is a copyvio of the company's website [1]. This falls within the grey area where personal judgement is required, which is why we have admins rather than bots doing the policing of the encyclopedia. For the record, your taggind was perfectly correct, and as you can see I have deleted it. The standard tags are held in WP:CSD. It does sometimes happen that no tag seems wholly appropriate. In this case I would suggest that you either add a {{prod}} tag, or pick the nearest appropriate {{speedy}}. If it is clear that an article needs deleting, the admin will make the final decision and, I am sure, will not shout at you. Keep going, you are working well at vandal notification and at article tagging (I had noticed). Happy wikying.--Anthony.bradbury"talk" 22:12, 11 June 2007 (UTC)
Your reasoning on RfA
You oppose me because I don't agree that that user name is offensive? That seems a bit much, I am entitled to my opinions as anyone else, no where did I imply that KP Botany shouldn't or couldn't be offended. The fact that I disagree with you or her reflects nothing about how I would use the admin tools. I too was surprised that the discussion on ChicagoPimp's user name was closed, in fact I was the one who suggested that the discussion be given time to mature, as I don't think a clear determination could be made from the few opinions presented. Just because I disagreed with KP Botany and the assertion that the username is offensive doesn't mean that I don't understand that it could be construed that way and I was only presenting my viewpoint in my argument, but we can't go around changing everything everytime one person is offended. Either way that oppose seemed pretty flimsy to me, of course you are entitled to oppose based on whatever you want but I urge you to reconsider your reasoning. Regardless thanks for commenting. IvoShandor 05:53, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- No, you insulted me during the discussion, by saying I was overly zealous and being politically correct.[2] You could have just argued against what I was saying, but you made it personal and personally attacked me rather than my arguments--and you don't know anything about me. Then your supports attacked Corvus for his vote, calling it bizarre.[3] Once you lead people down the road of focusing on the qualities of the person, not the argument, you've made it clear that this is a path you accept and invite others along ("over zealous," "politically correct," "overly sensitive").
- Thank you Corvus cornix for judging the situation that existed, whether you agree with my stance on pimp or not.[4] KP Botany 16:08, 12 June 2007 (UTC)

I am used to getting railroaded on Wikipedia, though. Anyone who isn't a young, generally male, computer addict spending hours on the computer every day is fighting an uphill battle to think this community will ever accept outsiders as part. It's amusing the lengths and depths people will go to to protect their right to define what has grown beyond their ownership, though. KP Botany 16:14, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
- Some of the best editors on Wikipedia are young adult males who spend hours a day on the computer, and they're some of the nicest. But if Wikipedia is going anywhere, it simply can't be owned by the in crowd, especially if the in crowd can't discuss an issue without personally diminishing anyone who disagrees with them. KP Botany 16:20, 12 June 2007 (UTC)
Novogradac entries
The removal of advertising tags is only done in conjunction with other edits made to the page to make the wording more neutral. The style and format of the page is meant to resemble the other accounting firms on Wikipedia, which also list public practice areas, statistics and clients (see KPMG, Deloitte, PriceWaterhouseCoopers, and Ernst & Young). User:1WOMBAT1
Do you take time to read edits to pages or just put tags back on? Did you go to any of the other accounting firm Wikipedia entries noted above? User:1wombat1
Please note that the most recent edits to the page include references to third parties. I'm new to Wikipedia editing, so I can't see how referencing third-parties would be negative. The Novogradac page seems to have an intro, statistics, practice areas, and refers to some tax programs. The non-neutral stuff (such as recognition on lists) is consistent with the following from the DeLoitte page:
Ratings from interest groups Deloitte was named one of the "100 Best Companies to Work For" by Fortune magazine "100 Best Companies for Working Mothers" for 2004 by Working Mother magazine. "Top 50 Best Companies for Diversity"; Essence's Top 30 Best Companies for African-American Women List; Latina Style - One of The Best Companies for Latinas Trainingmag.com - # 6 on list of Top 100 companies.
The major difference is that the Novogradac page has references to the recognition and the DeLoitte page does not. User:1WOMBAT1
Fair use
I did not know that was necessary. For example, take a look at this song page. The image is approved for use for discussion about the album. Since that is a song from that particular album, I do not see a problem.BP322 20:55, 13 June 2007 (UTC)

I haven;t geo-stubbed for many months because I was under the impression that most places were mapped out - I was completely wrong!!!!. I can't beleive after six years many towns are still missing from Germany. If wikipedia is going to be the main global source of information its going to have to acknowledge these places and at least provide some information. I'd like to see the info boxes in these new articles and translation of the German asap. ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 22:49, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
I'm also gradually adding all the villages in Tibet to try to complete a greater picture. My work on wikipedia varies greatly but I mostly work on film and filmbio related articles across the world and that related to the arts - I'm trying to add all the Hungarian painters and sculptors to wikipedia !!!! The project is developing well though ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 22:53, 15 June 2007 (UTC)
Thanks. Yes with Hungarian painters and sculptors I've started with A and Z - Sándor Ziffer is the latest I think. I'm also working my way through Finnish poets - starting with Aa - [[[Aale Tynni]]. I am also trying to create a wildlife series such as Wildlife of Pakistan. We'll get there eventually. SO much to do so little time!!! Hey buddy, I was just doing a bit of work at UAA, and saw your comment on the user-reported non-Latin username. Major regional malls are generally notable. How they are defined depends on local population density, but in general a mall with more than 1 million square feet of space is probably notable. --Eastmain 03:53, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

Why are these pages being considred for deletion? I spent hours on these pages. They are internationally released albums availabe from all over the world. Request to reconsider your opinion on deletion of Clayton Middle/High School
Hi, Since your vote in favor of deletion at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Clayton Middle/High School, I added information from three news articles about the school which establishes notability under Wikipedia standards (WP:N). Please take a look at the revised Clayton Middle/High School article and reconsider your vote. Thanks! Noroton 16:25, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Quote: "I don't see how the additions do anything to increase the school's notability"
- Notability is a Wikipedia standard set forth at WP:N. The additions meeet every one of the following standards from that page (or are you using your own definition of "notability"?):
General notability guideline
A topic is presumed to be notable if it has received significant coverage in reliable sources that are independent of the subject.
- "Significant coverage" means that sources address the subject directly in detail, and no original research is needed to extract the content. Significant coverage is more than trivial but less than exclusive.Template:Fn
- "Sources"Template:Fn should be secondary sources or otherwise provide objective evidence of notability. The number needed varies depending on the depth of coverage and quality of the sources. Multiple sources are generally preferred.Template:Fn
- "Reliable" means sources need editorial integrity to allow verifiable evaluation of notability, per the reliable source guideline. Sources may encompass published works in all forms and media. Availability of secondary sources covering the subject are a good test for notability.Template:Fn
- "Independent of the subject" excludes works produced by those affiliated with the subject including: self-publicity, advertising, self-published material by the subject, autobiographies, press releases, etc.Template:Fn
Satisfying this presumption of notability indicates a particular topic is worthy of notice, and may be included in the encyclopedia as a stand-alone article. Verifiable content not supported by multiple independent sources may be appropriate for merger with another article.
-- (sorry, forgot to sign) Noroton 16:35, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- further response -- well, existence is good enough for Wikipedia when combined with reliable sources. Rather than try to judge notability by some vaguer, subjective criterion, Wikipedia policy as it stands just tries to establish that a subject has been notable enough for indpendent, reliable sources to describe. I hope you'll think it over again, and if you want to discuss it further, I'm happy to do so, but otherwise I'll leave it there. You are, of course, entitled to differ even with Wikipedia policy (I know I do on some points). Thanks for your time. Noroton 16:43, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

- If the WikiProject can't follow the inviolate policies of Wikipedia, it doesn't deserve to exist. Just what am I "disrupting"? Follow WP:V and there's no problem. Don't follow WP:V, and you are not editing in good faith. Corvus cornix 21:40, 27 June 2007 (UTC)
- WP:V is being followed, you are disrupting by blanket-deleting non-negative information without giving reasonable time to provide references rather than discussing the matter on the talk page, as WP:V suggests. Tagging with {{fact}} or {{not verified}} is clearly written as acceptable policy. You are going way too far on this, and editors are objecting. How about contributing to the article and enhancing it instead of blanket-deleting aspects of it simply because you don't agree with the method of WP:V? Justinm1978 00:34, 28 June 2007 (UTC)

The anonymous user editing that article is a frequent violator of WP:AGF and WP:NPA, and sometimes acts a lot like a sneaky vandal (in fact, I've tried before at WP:ANI to get an admin to deal with this user's abuses), but they're correct about the claim of copyright violation (now that they've provided a link to substantiate the claim), so the text should probably stay deleted. -- Rbellin|Talk 03:07, 29 June 2007 (UTC)

Multiple items are not used if one will suffice; one is used only if necessary. 8. Significance. Non-free media is not used unless it contributes significantly to an article. It needs to significantly increase readers' understanding of the topic in a way that words alone cannot. The use of non-free media in lists, galleries, and navigational and user-interface elements is normally regarded as merely decorative, and is thus unacceptable.
In Bond girl there isn't any image to depict what a bond girl is and who performed one of them. No "non-free image overuse". And, as a film character, it is impossible to find a free one. If you do not agree (??) please discuss it but do not replace the image, you're not being construtive. Thank you.Parallel33
Megatech Update
Ah! Thank you so much for your help, I was truly confused. I didn't realize what channels that had to go through, and appreciate your letting me know how to set the article up for speedy deletion. I simply don't care enough about the article to fight for it (and try to avoid confrontation in general). Thanks again for your assistance.

Sorry about that, thanks for tagging it for me. I'm sure deleting it sounded a few alarms :) Postoak 05:08, 4 July 2007 (UTC)

- Haha, yea, I just noticed that after my last post on your talk page. I wonder why there wasn't anyone over at WP:AIV. BsroiaadnTalk 06:10, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Probably. I know I'd be out partying right now if I didn't feel sick. I should probably be sleeping, but my neck is killing me as well. And were you really a contestant on Jeopardy!? lol. BsroiaadnTalk 06:17, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- How long ago were you on it? If you don't mind me asking. BsroiaadnTalk 06:22, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- Did you get anything at all? Like a parting gift or something? And how do you even get on shows like that? Do you have to sign up and go through a lot of stuff...like elimination rounds or something before-hand? BsroiaadnTalk 06:26, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- That's pretty cool. How was the trip? And how long did the whole testing thing take? Did it happen over the course of a month or what? BsroiaadnTalk 19:12, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
- How long were you out there? And hahahaha, their luggage must have been pretty heavy. BsroiaadnTalk 15:28, 5 July 2007 (UTC)
- Haha, I'd probably do the same thing. How big was the pool? Pretty big? Average-sized? BsroiaadnTalk 22:20, 5 July 2007 (UTC)

That's pretty cool. I've never had that before, but I suppose it would be kind of dissapointing afterwards whenever I get into a pool that doesn't have one. lol. BsroiaadnTalk 01:34, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
Michael Jackson song redux
Hey there. Because I'm getting rather tired from a discussion that seems to lead nowhere, and because the outcomes of the current non-notable Jackson songs are unclear (while I think there's still a clear case for deletion, I have seen things like these closed no consensus in the past), I don't want to nominate all of the other Jackson song pages that merit it; however, since you seem to be interested in getting rid of the Jacksoncruft too, I thought I would list some of the ones I've noted in the past:
- 2 Bad - album track, no notability
- D.S. (song) - this one may or may not be notable - borderline case
- I Have This Dream - unreleased song
- Little Susie - album track
- Money (Michael Jackson song) - album track
- Tabloid Junkie - album track
- This Time Around (Michael Jackson song) - album track
- We Are Here to Change the World - Disney theme park ride theme, probably should just be merged but taking any of these to proposed merges results in a complete lack of cooperation, so not sure what to do here
- Working Day and Night - album track
- Xscape (song) - borderline case, but there aren't any reliable sources to back the claims of notability
Anyway, just thought I'd give you the info in case you wanted to do anything with them. Cheers! GassyGuy 07:00, 4 July 2007 (UTC)
Big hoax?
O Hooded Crow, I noticed that you questioned the relevance of the cited sources for The Sacred Order of Skull and Crescent on that article's talk page. I think I may have found evidence of a hoax embracing that article and a couple of others; if you're interested, take a look at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Pugalist Club and let me know what you think. Friend, don't you think you should exercise a little patience and look into things before you nominate an article for AfD that is all of one minute old? Not everyone writes articles in sandboxes, so you might want to actually take the time to determine whether an article is really notable or not. Did you take the time to read through the project's proposed air incident notabilty criteria? Did you take the time to understand the AMASS system and how its prevention of a tradgedy alone makes this incident notable? I don't mean to come down too hard on you, but AfDs shouldn't be taken lightly, and you need to exercise some caution when nominating them. AKRadeckiSpeaketh 01:57, 6 July 2007 (UTC)
