Mihai Eminescu

Mihail Eminescu (January 15, 1850-June 15, 1889), outstanding Romanian poet, belonging to late Romanticism.

Born in Botoşani, Romania, he was educated in Cernăuţi and then Vienna. He activated in the Junimea, and was a prominent member of the Conservative Party and a journalist at Timpul.

Famous works include Luceafărul (Lucifer) and Scrisorile (The Epistles).
