Nicos Anastasiades(born on 27 September 1946 in Pera Pedi, Limassol, Cyprus) is a Cypriot politician who is the current political leader of the right wing political party DISY (the Democratic Rally). He was born in Pera Pedi, Limassol District, on 27 September 1946. He was first elected to the House of Representatives in 1981 and has been leader of his party since the 8th of June 1997.
He is a lawyer by profession. He graduated in law from the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens and completed postgraduate studies in shipping law at University College London (University of London).
