Pranksters / From Here to Maternity
Template:Infobox Rocko's Modern Life episodes season four Pranksters/From Here to Maternity was the second episode of the fourth season of the Animated Television series Rocko's Modern Life.
Pranksters
It's April Fools Day, and Heffer is a complete pranking machine. When Rocko learns that his Grandma is coming over for a visit, he calls everyone from Filburt to Ed Bighead to the Chameleon Bros. to the Christmas Elf; all assume that Rocko's pulling a big prank on them and refuse. Rocko reluctantly goes to Heffer. At the airport, he has to help Granny Rocko, who nags Heff endlessly (even while driving home). Heff becomes exasperated but he tries to put 2 & 2 together. He assumes that Granny is actually Rocko himself trying to pull a prank on him and plots his revenge. He tries to utilize a giant prank (a rocket that will pull him into space). When he learns that Grandma isn't Rocko, he is stunned and practically tries to commit suicide with guilt. However, old Granny isn't all that she seems. It turns out that Granny was actually Filburt, who had loathed April Fools Day because he was always the butt of the pranks. Filb laughs mercilessly at the fact that he finally pulled one on Rocko and Heff.
From Here to Maternity
- Directed by: Robert McNally-Scull
- Story by: Martin Olson
In this story, Rocko, Heffer and Filburt race to the maternity ward to see Dr. Hutchison, Filburt's expecting wife, and to beat the stork. They almost make it, but the stork steals Filburt's glasses, and Filburt runs into a pole instead of the maternity doors. They make it in, and Dr. Hutchison, who has Filburt's egg and his glasses, is doing well. However, she is called to surgery and leaves the egg within Filburt's possession.
Back at Filburt's trailer, he, Rocko, and Heffer have a party to celebrate the new baby. After the gift-giving is done (Rocko gives Filburt baby booties, and Heffer gives him a rake), Filburt tries to sit on the egg, but he keps sliding off. So, Filburt makes Heffer sit on the egg. After Heffer gets cozy, they go shopping for new baby things. Filburt and Heffer debate whether it will be a boy or a girl, while Rocko signs them up for free Lamaze classes (and gets pickpocketed by a conniving children's character named Bobo, the Friendly Bison, whose purple color makes him a send-up of Barney).
At the Lamaze class, everyone is doing well. But things turn sour when the Easter Bunny, the Lamaze instructor, steals everyone's eggs. Rocko is the only one that notices, and he sneaks into the "Rabbits Only" room (really an Easter Egg factory) disguised as a bunny. He manages to steals back Filburt's egg, and alerts everyone that there are Easter bunnies present. The cops come to arrest the Easter bunnies, but when they see Rocko, who is still disguised as a bunny and holding Filburt's egg as well as having no ID on him, they promptly arrest the three. While they are in jail, the egg hatches, and there are 4 babies: two that look like Filburt, one that looks like Dr. Hutchison, and one that looks like, for some reason Heffer. The Heffer-baby sees Rocko first, and continuously follows him (even through the credits).
Trivia
- In the episode Pranksters, when the rocket that Heffer launched on himself goes inside the Earth, you can see a depiction of Hell.
- When Heffer is being launched on the rocket he falls into the sun. This is impossible as it is to hot to not burn anything that comes anywhere near it.
- This episode, for unexplained reasons, has never aired on Nicktoons Network. It may have to do with the fact that Heffer tried to commit suicide in Pranksters and Filbert and Dr. Hutchison having a baby that doesn't look like them but rather looks like Heffer in From Here to Maternity.
