Dubnium is the 105th chemical element, symbol Db.

It was discovered in 1970 by Albert Ghiorso, and named after Dubna, Russia. Little is known about its physical and chemical properties.

There was a dispute as to what the elements from 101 to 109 were to be called; thus IUPAC adopted Unnilpentium (symbol Unp) as a temporary name for this element. However in 1997 they resolved the dispute and adopted the current name.
