Dodie Boy Penalosa
Diosdado "Dodie Boy" Penalosa (born November 19, 1962, San Carlos City, Philippines) was a boxer in the Flyweight division.
Penalosa, turned pro in 1982 and in 1983 captured the Vacant IBF Light Flyweight Title with a TKO win over Satoshi Shingaki. He defended the title three times before vacating the belt in 1986, when he moved up to challenge WBA Flyweight Title holder Hilario Zapata. Penalosa lost the bout, but was able to capture the IBF Flyweight Title the following year with a KO win over Hi Sup Shin. He lost the belt in his first defense to Chang Ho Choi. In 1989 he would get another shot at the IBF Flyweight Title against Dave McAuley, but lost a split decision. Penalosa would never challenge for a major title again, and fought several bouts in Asia before retiring in 1995.
Penalosa is a member of a notable boxing family, the Penalosas. His younger brother Gerry Penalosa is a former champion.
