Athletics
Unionville High School is home to many successful athletic teams. Unionville had been, consistently, a dominant team in the SCCL (Southern Chester County League), however, the league recently merged in 2006 with the Chest-Mont League. The Unionville Indians Football team was 2005 and 2006 SCCL Champions making back to back playoff appearances. The other athletic teams at Unionville High School are also up and coming. Recently, in 2006, the Unionville High School Boys soccer team had the most successful season in school history. They pulled out wins over top ranked teams in the state, and made a run at the State Championship. Finally, they lost to Manheim Township, ranked 9th in the nation, in a tense game that they had come very close to winning. The Tennis teams at Unionville High School have also been very dominant forces in past years, winning numerous back to back SCCL Championships. One of the more noteable players being Ben Vance. Since 2004 the Unionville Indians Lacrosse teams have developed, and been improving ever since. It is possible that they may capture another playoff appearance in 2006, and years to come. Finally, the UHS boys wrestling team (16-5) has also recently capped off their most successful season in recent school history, with multiple tournament championships lead to the Indians being ranked 3rd locally as well as 8th in District 1, they look to improve on their current success and hope to capture a League title next season. As well as the Cross Country teams, which have found more success in the past five years than any other team in Unionville. Specifically, the Girls Cross Country Team has won the SCCL title four years in a row (first out of ten teams), placed as a top five team in the district four years in a row(out of sixty teams), and a top ten team in the state for AAA (out of over 500 teams), again, four years in a row. The team has been ranked by dyestat.com as the 20th best team in the nation in 2004. It is the only team in recent Unionville history (possibly ever at Unionville) to, in a single year, capture both a State Team Championship and an Individual Title (Katie Thaeder). In 2006, Paul Springer finished his cross country season as the runner up at the state championship meet and as a qualifier for Footlocker Nationals. During his indoor campaign he was the state champion in the mile run, setting a state indoor record of 4:12. Paul Springer is still faster than Katie Thaeder. In 2004 Kyle Davis won the individual state title for men's golf. He was the second male to win the PIAA state championship from Unionville, Jeff Craig won the title in 1986. Davis also won league titles his junior and senior year. The mens golf team has won 10 straight league titles and from 2001-2003 winning the team district title which is the highest level of competition for the team (no team state tournament).
Prominant Members of the Class of 2007 were...
