Adam James Eckersley (born September 7, 1985 in Salford, England) is an English footballer who plays primarily as a left-back, but is also capable of playing at right-back. Eckersley currently plays for Manchester United.

Eckersley was born in Manchester and went to Walkden High School. He signed for Manchester United as a junior player in 2002 and was a member of the United reserve team that won the quadruple in 2005. He made his senior team debut in the Carling Cup on October 26, 2005, starting in the 4-1 home win over Barnet F.C. where he played as left-back. Eckersley then went on loan to the Belgian second division club Royal Antwerp, in January 2006, to gain further first team match experience. In August 2006 he was loaned out to Brøndby IF, who had recently signed former Manchester United reserve team coach René Meulensteen as manager. He was injured during his stay at Brøndby IF and only played six matches for the club, before the loan ended on December 31, 2006. He joined Barnsley on January 5 2007 on loan until the end of the season, after which he returned to United, and was promoted to the first squad after Mikael Silvestre's injury presented United with a shortage of left-backs.
