Como is a city in northern Lombardy, northern Italy, 45 Km north of Milan.

It is the capital of the province with the same name.

Geographical features

Mountains (Lombard Alps) and some hills cover the territory of the province of Como, and the most important body of water is the glacial Lake of Como.

Popolation

In 2001 Como had 78315 inhabitants (36805 male and 41510 female), with a density of 2097,4 people/Km2. (Source: http://www.istat.it/ - in italian)
