Frank Bernard Hartbourne was a fictional character on the ITV soap opera Emmerdale. He was played by Rob Parry.
About Frank
Frank Bernard was Pearl Ladderbanks' son. He had just been released from prison for raping a neighbour. Many people who lived in the village didn't take too kindly to having a rapist living among them, and so they either shunned or actively harassed him.
One day, Donna Windsor had an accident on her scooter and Frank went to see if she was all right. Donna panicked when she saw him, and ran into the arms of her brother Scott. Scott and his friend Syd Woolfe then set upon Frank, thinking that he had harmed Donna, and promptly beat him to an inch of his life and left him for dead on a roadside. Frank was subsequently discovered by Rodney Blackstock and Danny Daggert, who helped him home to his mother. Len Reynolds, Pearl's partner, was suspicious as to why Frank refused to give the names of his attackers.
Frank then decided to leave Emmerdale, breaking Pearl's heart.
