I'm a computer science student from the Netherlands.

My contributions to Wikipedia, which form a welcome distraction from work (sometimes it's getting too distractive, though) are currently focussed around two semi-official WikiProjects - see below for more details on that.

For the rest you may find me contributing to pages about sports, or pages related to the Netherlands (that's were I live) and of course the occasional random page editing, orphan squashing and more of this "administrative work".

WikiProject Countries

A template for editing country pages has been worked out and can be seen at WikiProject Countries. There's still work done on the exact layout of the table, but I'm trying to apply the template as it is to the country pages around, helped by many other Wikipedians. A status of the conversion can be found at the project's page.

Currently, I'm working at Luxembourg/Temp, Kiribati/Temp and China/Temp (which is mainly because of the naming issue).

WikiProject Sports Olympics

I've also resumed my work on the WikiProject Sports Olympics, where there's much work left to do.

  • The main articles on the Olympics themselves are good, but not good enough. I haven't got any plans for editing yet, however.
  • Each Olympics should have its own article. The template at the WikiProject page is outdated, but 1896 Summer Olympics gives a rather good view of what I think these pages should look like.
  • Next, there should be overviews of Olympic medalists per sport. There are already some of these pages around, but their name stinks, and their contents should be in a proper table.
  • Finally, I think all Olympic champions (eventually) deserve a Wikipedia article. Stating that is one thing, doing it is a second. My plans on this are laid out below.

Olympic Champions

The process of writing biographies for all Olympic Champions is huge, so I'll attack it with an event-by-event approach. The statuses of these "mini-projects" are listed below.
