Lingala is one of the Bantu languages spoken in the Democratic Republic of the Congo (Congo-Kinshasa) and the Republic of the Congo (Congo-Brazzaville). Its vocabulary has strong French influences, some Portuguese influences (such as the words for butter, table, shoes) and even some English influences. Milk is Miliki and friend is Mista, for example.
