What the hell is going on with the clever colors? I find them distracting and offensive. Clearly computer programmers with little sense of design are now in charge. These colors are meaningless and annoying - I'm sure someone said "oh, let's let people know what KIND of pages they're on by putting DIFFERENT BACKGROUNDS on them!!!" However, the recent changes page, where most of us live, is now offensive gray.
snotty attitude, but great designer more ramblings on why text is more important than cleverness in web design
- I'm sure they will think of better colors. Remember, computer programmers are mostly engineering types who have a mechanistic design sense instead of an esthetic one. I for one like the concept but hate the particular colors used. maveric149
- Oh, please! Design sense! Better colors?
- Redundancy is of very debatable utility, and these colors are redundant information. There may be an option to use colors, but they should not be the default. Waiting for the programmers to give me 'better' colors is not on my list of things to do to mortify myself for Lent. MichaelTinkler
- I just now (Wednesday morning, my local time) found a USE for these silly colors. I can open another window over wikipedia and do some other things while I wait for wikipedia to move from page to page, and from the colored page edge showing behind my top window I can know if wikipedia is ready for me or not. Thank you, programmers! That's a utility! MichaelTinkler
