Gunfight at the O.K. Corral is a 1957 movie starring Burt Lancaster as Wyatt Earp and Kirk Douglas as Doc Holliday about the famous October 26, 1881 gunfight in Tombstone, Arizona Territory. The movie has an outstanding supporting cast including Rhonda Fleming, John Ireland, Jo Van Fleet, Martin Milner, Dennis Hopper, Jack Elam, Lee Van CleefDeForest Kelly and Earl Holliman. The screenplay was written by novelist Leon Uris. Directed by John Sturges, the movie, based on the actual events of the Gunfight at the O.K. Corral, was nominated for two Academy Awards in the Sound and Editing categories.
