"New York Groove" is a song written by Russ Ballard and performed by Ace Frehley on his self titled record (officially released as a Kiss album) in 1978 (originally recorded by Hello in 1975, and a top ten hit in the United Kingdom and Germany in that version).
Frehley, like the other then-current members of Kiss, recorded and released a solo album. Released as a single, it made it to #13 on the American Billboard Hot 100 that year, by far the highest charting single from any of the Kiss members' solo albums. "New York Groove" became a staple of his live shows during the 1980s and again during the Reunion Tour when he rejoined Kiss in 1996.
A live version of the song can be found on the Japanese version of the 1996 album You Wanted the Best, You Got the Best!! (and the U.S. vinyl version) as well as 2001s The Box Set that was recorded in Australia in 1980, and featuring then-current Kiss drummer Eric Carr on drums. To date, it is one of the few live recordings officially released by the band while Carr was a part of the group.
The song is played at Giants Stadium following New York Giants touchdowns.
