A Sense of Insanity is the upcoming ninth In Flames studio album, scheduled to be released in Europe on April 4, 2008 through Nuclear Blast. In Flames have inked a deal with Koch Records for the North American release of their album on April 1. The first single taken from the new album is scheduled to be "The Mirror's Truth." The album will also be released in a limited edition version of which only 1500 copies will be made. This release is scheduled to be available on the same day as the European release.

The single The Mirror's Truth can be heard on the band's MySpace as of February 15, 2008. The single's video can be viewed on the Headbangers Ball Blog.

The tracks "Disconnected", "Drenched in Fear" and "The Chosen Pessimist" have been aired on the radio and are available for listening via YouTube.

According to Amazon.com, the album will receive a parental advisory sticker, making this album the only In Flames album to have explicit lyrics since they first debuted in 1994, except for the song "Watch Them Feed" from the Trigger EP. The song "The Chosen Pessimist" is the longest recorded In Flames song.

On March 25, the full album was added to the band's MySpace which can be previewed for listening.
