The Mashantucket Pequots are a small Native American tribe in Connecticut which operates a successful casino.

The Mashantucket Pequots are only a remnant of the Pequots, most of whom were killed in a war in 1637 by British troops. To celebrate this victory, the first formally declared Day of Thanksgiving was declared by the governor of the Massachusetts Bay Colony.
