Westland (municipality), Netherlands

The Westland is the area south-west of the line The Hague - Rotterdam in South Holland, Netherlands, approximately consisting of the municipalities De Lier, 's-Gravenzande, Maasland, Maassluis, Monster, Naaldwijk, Schipluiden, Wateringen, as well as Hoek van Holland (mun. Rotterdam).

It is well known for its horticulture in greenhouses.

On 1 January 2004 the municipalities De Lier, 's-Gravenzande, Monster, Naaldwijk and Wateringen will be merged to a new municipality Westland, and Maasland and Schipluiden to another one, Midden-Delfland.
