Julio César Chávez
Great Mexican world champion who won world titles in 3 different divisions, went undefeated for 89 bouts before retiring with a record of 104-5-2, and beat world champions like Edwin Rosario, Jose Luis Ramirez, Rocky Lockridge, [Meldrick Taylor]], Roger Mayweather, Sammy Fuentes, Hector 'Macho' Camacho, Juan Laporte and Tonly Lopez during his brilliant career.
Chavez wore a black ribbon on the night of September 21, 1985 during his world title defense against Dwight Pratchett, to honor all his countrymen and women who fell during the Mexico City earthquake of September 15, 1985, a day all of Latin America cried.
Chavez's relationship with Don Kingwas always controversial, and he became one of the first persons to denounce the kidnappings of famous people's relatives in Mexico during the middle and late 90's because he was threatened by a gang with having his own son kidnapped, but other than that , he was a world boxing champion who had his fans concentrate more on his ring career rather than his personal career, and is known more for his achievements inside the ring, than for his happenings outside of it.
