Radcliffe Power Station

Radcliffe Power Station was a coal fired power station in Radcliffe, Greater Manchester, England. It was opened by Lord Derby on 9th October 1905 and closed in 1959. It originally had two 1,500 kW turbo sets made by British Thomson-Houston. Electricity was generated at 10 kV, Radcliffe was the first power station in the country to transmit by bare electrical conductors at 10 kV. [1]
The station was operated by The Lancashire Electric Power Company.
