Just a note to the multitude of people who mistakenly add schools that aren't Christian Brother schools, and never have been: If you're told, for example, that your school is run by "the Brothers of the Christian Schools", that does not make them Christian Brothers. Many of these schools are in fact Lasallian, and are distinguishable by having different founders (Jean-Baptiste de la Salle for the Lasallians, and Edmund Ignatius Rice for the Christian Brothers). Check the school website first. I'm watching this page, and if I delete an entry, this is almost definitely the reason. Thanks. Rob Lindsey09:30, 15 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Christian Brothers High School Memphis and Christian Brothers High School Sacramento do not belong in this list as they are associated with the "Brothers of the Christian Schools," a religious community of brothers founded by St. John Baptist de La Salle in France in the late 18th Century. The schools listed here are those associated with the "Congregation of Christian Brothers," a religious community of brothers founded by Blessed Edmund Rice in Ireland in 1802. These two distinct Roman Catholic orders of religious brothers are often confused in the United States because in the United States they are both commonly known as the Christian Brothers. The Memphis and Sacramento schools called "Christian Brothers High School" are correctly listed in the Wikipedia article Lasallian educational institutions. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 68.252.246.176 (talk) 22:05:41, August 19, 2007 (UTC)
