Elizabeth Rosamond Taylor (often also: Liz Taylor), born February 27, 1932 in London as daughter of the art dealer Francis Taylor and the actress Sara Taylor. Her parents are American. She has one older brother, Howard.

Liz Taylor became an actress as a child. She played in her first movie at the age of nine, her first important engagement was playing the leading role in Clarence Brown's film National Velvet.

At the age of 3 she began taking ballet lessons. Later, she visited the University High School in Los Angeles, California and received her high school diploma January 26, 1950.
