Should a sepparate article be made for Animal Crossing DS? Or should we worry about that when it comes out in 2005?

Joiz 14:37, Jul 5, 2004 (UTC)

Wait until it comes out. There isn't very much information about it yet. --NessSnorlax

We should wait, but the page should be separated into smaller pages anyway. The calendar events section is as long as hell and this is one of the longer pages for any video game on the 'pedia. The DS version will definetly rock, though! Please, add anything new you find about the game ASAP! I need to know everything about it!

OH! And we should try and get a picture and a link up for the DS version as well to give people a better idea of what the game is. - thealexfish 3/24/05

First paragraph:

The game does not utilize the Gamecube's clock, contrary to popular belief, instead having its own clock independent of the Gamecube's. However, it is possible to adjust this clock in what is called "time travelling" by players of the game.

Later in article:

Animal Crossing uses the GameCube's internal clock to check the date.

Which is correct? AEton 23:30, 28 Dec 2004 (UTC)

The second paragraph is correct. The game can't have it's own clock because you can't put a clock into a disc, atleast not that I know of. But although it uses the Gamecube's internal clock you can have the game set ahead or behind it, the game just remembers how far ahead or behind the Gamecube's clock it is.

Suggestions for Improvement

Well, I decided to get the ball rolling and start this. What can be added to make this a featured article? -- A Link to the Past 04:35, July 13, 2005 (UTC)

Blech.

That was me that reworked the Game section and added the museum section. The is the second time that I took so long writing something that I apparently got logged out. Annoying. Anyways, if you have any comments about it. --Pagrashtak 19:34, 27 July 2005 (UTC)[reply]

good job--Aeryka 18:59, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I'm having an argument with someone about something in this article, and I need somewhere to post the argument transcript for 3rd opinion, so I'ma put it here. it seems appropriate.

Stop spamming Wikipedia with your stupid site or you shall be blocked. Thank you. -- A Link to the Past 03:09, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

I was actually just trying to link to a good AC site. it isn't 'my site'. and you DO get the codes if you sign up. please explain what part of that you think is 'stupid', and why it's spam. It's just a link to an AC site. it was EXTERNAL LINKS. I can link to sites about animal crossing that aren't on wikipedia. that wasn't spam.

So, if I make a Geocities site about AC, I can link to it? We're not going to change it to "Relevant external links", it's going to be called External links - it's for relevant links to the article that are actually notable. You may also note that it doesn't even have 300 members. -- A Link to the Past 03:17, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

I actually gave all of the information about the site I needed for the link to not be rejected... what do I have to do to get it not deleted?! make a project hyrule page?! I DON'T OWN PROJECT HYRULE. I AM NOT ADVERTISING. WHAT AM I DOING WRONG?! Oh, and one of the sites you linked to was shut down, so if you can leave a dead link up, why can't I link to PH?

Those were deleted before you ever commented on them. All the rest remaining on the list are far more notable than this website that you adore. There's nothing that can be done outside of making it a prolific site. If you feel like doing so, go ahead. But the link, as it is now, is not prolific, so leave it alone and I won't bit you. -- A Link to the Past 03:30, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

another thing to tell you before I go... *cries*

Oh, and on this site, UCs for everything but fish, insects, and the forbidden 4 have codes on this site, and on gamefaqs, there aren't that many codes. and these are special UCs not on any other site unless they take them from PH. They had a very smart guy develop the code generator that made them. So they are not the same. And this site had cracked the code system before most of the sites you linked to existed. they just had to get a new site because of an incident with a guy named genji. or do you already know about that? from how you're acting, I'd think YOU'RE genji!

wait, what am I thinking?! go?! I'm not going to go until this argument is over!

You heard me! I'm not going to just leave because you discouraged me!

Then, perhaps, you should be blocked for dragging this argument on just to ensure that your advertisement of this article succeeds. You put arguments next to the website as to why it's worth going to. -- A Link to the Past 03:51, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

I only put that stuff there because usually if you don't give info about the site, the link is taken from the article. now lets make a deal... I put up the link, and you take it down on september 10th.

This is unconditional. I'd prefer that no link such as this were there for a single second. -- A Link to the Past 04:13, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

so even though the site is animal crossing related, and is outside of wikipedia, if it's there, it should be removed? That's unfair. External means outside of wikipedia. And this site has to do with animal crossing. AND, unlike you believe, the site IS NOT OWNED BY ME, so I can't be "spamming Wikipedia with your stupid site". oh, and also, IT'S NOT SPAMMING. I only put it in one article, and one that I don't think many people go here of all places to look at...

WP:ISNOT a web portal. A site needs justification for being on Wikipedia, and the site you provide lacks that. -- A Link to the Past 16:39, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

look at what I took from WP:ISNOT.

Mere collections of external links or Internet directories. There is nothing wrong with adding to an article a list of content-relevant links

CONTENT RELEVANT. Project Hyrule is an ANIMAL CROSSING WEBSITE. I AM NOT SPAMMING. GET OVER IT.

Go ahead and create a Geocities website on Animal Crossing and put it up, I dare you. WP:ISNOT for advertising. It's not for this stupid website. The statement you added afterwards was giving incentive for people to visit the forum and join up, which, along with the fact that it's a very small, Invision-forum, constitutes as advertising. No matter how much you want to believe, External links is not for people to get visitors to their website, it's to give people information that wouldn't normally be present in the encyclopedia. A tiny forum does not warrant mention compared to very well-made Animal Crossing fan pages, GameFAQs and the official web pages.

And no, I'm not an admin. But anyone has the authority to warn others that they're violating Wikipedia guidelines (in articles or through harrassing of others). -- A Link to the Past 18:28, August 13, 2005 (UTC)

The information that can be gained on that forum is codes. codes that can't be aqquired anywhere but that site without the codes being taken from the site. compare how many codes are on gamefaqs and how many are on project hyrule. big difference, huh? and try one of the codes in the game.

Tom Nook: [item's name here] has arrived for you from Project Hyrule

And also, it isn't a 'small invision board'. The statement after actually was just put there so people wouldn't spam and harrass me going OMGWTF WHERE ARE T3H CODEZ. The codes were made member-only because people kept stealing them and claiming them as their own. Why, the incentive to join isn't the codes, it's the community. Oh, and this site has information about animal crossing you or gamefaqs (which only has junk that is A: useless, or B: well known) don't have in this part of the index: http://s8.invisionfree.com/projecthyrule/index.php?c=2 Take a look. They're helping eachother with things in the game. Expanding the amount of AC info on the forum. And a lot of that stuff isn't in the article. Oh, and you harassed me first. that link was as valid as any other, and YOU harassed me. Seeya. I'm going to go contact an admin now (or anything else I can do besides that to stop this parade of idiocy we're calling an argument). :) seeya

Please stop spamming until you have a real website and the alexa ranking to prove it among other stuff to prove your notablity. Other than that, please stop wasting your time aruging your site is notable. --Kiba 21:27, 13 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I think if the website IS animal crossing centered it is legit. If it is articles, make an article section!--Aeryka 19:42, 15 August 2005 (UTC)[reply]

The Trading Function

Shouldn't the item trading function used through Passwords be mentioned? It's the most popular function in the game! -Occono
