The Duncan Lawrie International Dagger is an award given by the Crime Writers' Association for best translated crime novel of the year. The winning author receives an ornamental dagger and £5,000. The translator of the novel is also awarded £1,000. The award was first given in 2006, and was partly concevied in order to acknowledge the contribution of the translator. The first winner was French author Fred Vargas for her novel The Three Evangelists, translated by Siân Reynolds. She won the award the following year also.
