His usual position is forward. As his appearance is similar to French football (soccer) footballer Thierry Henry, he was given the nickname 'Henry'.

On 11 March 2008, Cheng Siu Wai scored two goals for South China against Home United FC of Singapore, at Mongkok Stadium in an AFC Cup group game, but it was not enough as South China lost 2-3.
