"Soak Up the Sun" was the first single from Sheryl Crow's 2002 album C'mon C'mon. The song, which features backing vocals by Liz Phair, peaked at #1 on the Billboard Adult Top 40 chart and hit #5 on the Hot Adult Contemporary Tracks chart, becoming one of her biggest hits since "All I Wanna Do". In addition, "Soak Up the Sun" (remixed by noted DJ Victor Calderone) spent one week at #1 on the Billboard Hot Dance Club Play chart in June of 2002; to date, this is Crow's only song to top this chart. The song peaked at #17 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart, and it reached #16 on the UK Singles Chart.
The music video for this song was directed by Wayne Isham and features Crow performing the song in a bikini and barefoot on the beach, as well as surfing and jumping off a waterfall.
The Kidz Bop Kids have recorded a cover version of this song.
