Bidet
Appearance
A bidet is a low-mounted sink intended for washing the external genitalia and the anus.
Bidets are common in bathrooms of some European countries, like France and Greece (called "μπιντές" - bides).
Some people, especially the youth, some times prefer a shower or a bath for washing the genitalia and the anus. Before household plumbing, a bidet was a bowl set upon a folding horse, used in the same way.
Bidets can appear to resemble water closets or urinals by those who are unfamiliar with them. Using them in this way is a faux pas.
Some toilet seats have incorporated bidets on them. They are sold in Greece, Japan and other countries.
