Rail Station of Sernada do Vouga

40°40′20.7″N 8°27′11″W / 40.672417°N 8.45306°W / 40.672417; -8.45306 Sernada do Vouga it's a small portuguese village in the parishe of Macinhata do Vouga, in municipality of Águeda and Aveiro district. Placed a few meters, downstream, of the estuary of River Caima and is bathed by River Vouga. Since the beginning of century twenty, was on to the railroad activity, through the construction of Linha do Vale do Vouga and its branch, becoming local of interconnection for Espinho, Aveiro and Viseu. With the inactivation, in January of 1990, of the link Sernada - Viseu, lost part of its then railroad relevance. It keeps however, the workshops of REFER, responsible for the maintenance of the actual railroad material.

Fluvial beach, the area of sport fishing, the railroad station, the dedicated chapel the Sait Amaro, and the primary school, are attractive in this small village. Some fountains are also interest, detaching what is found main square. As curiosity, they are the bridges: on the river Vouga, with special characteristic the fact that is for mix traffic (sharing in the same level the rail and road traffic, having barriers that cut the road traffic when trains are using the bridge); and on the river Caima (reconverted bridge from rail traffic to road traffic).
