The Zocalo metro station in Mexico City serves the central plaza or zocalo. The station is on line 2, and the icon for the station is based on the national coat of arms (an eagle with a snake in its beak). Nearby points of interest include the National Cathedral and the governor's offices.

Artwork on the walls of the station reflects the history of the central plaza. Three large display cases contain models showing the site during three periods in history, from the pyramids of the Aztec civilization to the present day.
