The Exeter River is 30 miles (48 kilometres) long, and located in Rockingham County, southeastern New Hampshire. It rises at Chester, NH, 12 miles (19 kilometres) southeast of Manchester, NH. It flows east and northeast, and through Exeter, NH to meet the Squamscott River, a tidal river leading north to Great Bay. There are falls at Exeter.
