I dunno, dude, your version looks distorted in its proportions and washed out in its colors with respect to the original. What did you do to it? keep -Lethe | Talk 16:49, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Neutral(first still looks better, but not going to object. Superm401 | Talk 19:13, 25 September 2005 (UTC)). Second just looks worse, and is worse resolution. Superm401 | Talk 17:22, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I think you're confusing the two pictures. The PNG is clearly the wrong aspect ratio (look how horizontally stretched Cleese looks), is darker, washed out, and the wrong filetype, while the JPG fixes all of these problems. In a nutshell, it's the PNG that I've listed for deletion, as it's obsoleted by the JPG. BillyH 18:37, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
I think they know. What do you mean by "wrong filetype" by the way? PNG is a perfectly good file format, that unlike JPEG doesn't cause loss of quality, unless file size is of critical importance I don't see the problem. You should have just made your "improved" version PNG too and overwritten the old image rather than creating a duplicate. Then people could fight over what revision was the better on it's talkpage rather than here (wich is a pain). --Sherool 19:13, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Never mind, I see what you mean as per Wikipedia:Image_use_policy. --Sherool 19:43, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Delete since we should use JPG's for photographs and png for graphic drawings. Zach (Sound Off) 20:14, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Keep It is now sourced OmegaWikipedia 17:20, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - Still an orphan, so it's fair game for deletion. --Bash 17:23, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Comment - Ok, Bash, its no longer an orphan and is at two places. OmegaWikipedia 17:44, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Alright, looks OK. Change to Keep. --Bash 17:50, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Comment You can't rely claim "fair use" when putting it on your userpage (no relevant context) so that doesn't rely count, the use in the article is fair enough though.

--Sherool 17:57, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Not only does it being on the user page not count, you must take it off. It is only fair use in the article. Any other use is a copyvio. Superm401 | Talk 18:02, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the other replies Superm401, and I'll remove that image soon from my page, but a question first. User:Extraordinary Machine has images listed on his user page too, but many of them are in a table below. Is it OK if I put images like that or does Extraordinary Machine have to get rid of his pictures too? OmegaWikipedia 18:20, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, he does. The fair use claim is not effective for the display of those images on his user page, but only on the article. Superm401 | Talk 19:15, 25 September 2005 (UTC)[reply]
