The 2005 American League Division Series is sceduled to start on Tuesday October 4th, and end as early as Friday October 7th, and as late as Sunday October 9th.

Possible Matchups

There are a two possible matchups for the 2005 ALDS, all of which depend pn the results of the regular season games on Sunday October 2nd. –If the New York Yankees defeat the Boston Red Sox, and the Clevland Indians defeat the Chicago White Sox, then the Indians and the Red Sox will play a one game playoff on October 3rd. The winner will win the wild-card berth. If the Red Sox win that game, they play the White Sox in the first round, with the White Sox having home-field advantage. The Yankees will play the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, with the Yankees having home field advantage. If the Indians were to win that playoff, they would get the wild-card berth, and play the Yankees in the ALDS, and the White Sox would play the Angels. -If Cleveland loses, no matter what the Red Sox do, the Red Sox win the wild-card berth, and the situation that was described if the Red Sox were to win the one game playoff. The same thing would happen if Boston wins, no matter what the Indians do.
