This is an old revision of this page, as edited by 131.107.0.75 (talk) at 23:45, 3 November 2008 (A TP monitor is not a transaction manager, though it may contain one. The Java Transaction Service (JTS) is a specification for building a transaction manager, that maps onto the Object Management Group (OMG) Object transaction service used in the Common Object Request Broker Architecture (CORBA) architecture. It uses General Inter-ORB Protocol (IIOP) to propagate the transactions between multiple JTS transaction managers.

Java Platform, Enterprise Edition application servers are required to provide a JTS implementation.
