New York, New York |[Lehigh University, Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering]] }} Tim McEneny (August 8, 1948) is Chairman and CEO of PurchasingNet, Inc.in Red Bank, NJ. His is considered a pioneer and innovator of automated procurement abd accound payable systems. He co-foundered Aamerican Tech, in 1983 (remnaed PurchasingNet, Inc. in 1998), and created the first PC-based automated purchasing system named P.O. Writer Plus. He later went on tio develop the first Web-based software and later a complete Procure-to-Pay solution named PNet.

Early Years

McEneny was born in New York City, New York August 8, 1948 and was raised in Pelham, New York.

High School

McEneny attended Pelham Memorial High School where he was captain of the basketball and soccer teams.

College

McEneny graduated from Lehigh University in 1970 with a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering. He was inducted into Alpha Phi Mu, the industrial Engineering Honor Society. He was a member of Theta Delta Chi fraternity.

Early Career Highlights

Prior to founding PurchasingNet, Inc., McEneny worked as a Manger and Supply Chain practitioner at IBM, Singer Corporation, and Sara Lee between 1970 and 1981.

Publications & Awards

McEneny is the author of “Up the Manufacturing Organization: The Modern Materials Manager’s Guide to Survival" in 1981. He authored a chapter in the “eBusiness Handbook” in 2000 and was featured in Chuck Martin's bestselling book, "Net Future".

McEneny has been named a Pro-to-Know by Supply & Demand Chain Executive magazine in 2005, 2007, and 2008.

Family

McEneny is married to Laurene Fielder and lives in Colts Neck, New Jersey. His brother, Tom McEneny, is a three-time Emmy winner and editor of the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric.
