Roy Thomas Frank Bentley (born 17 May, 1924) was an English football player who played for Bristol City, Newcastle United, Chelsea, Fulham and Queens Park Rangers. He later managed Reading and Swansea before retiring.

Serving in the Royal Navy during the Second World War, Bentley is most famous for his role in Chelsea's 1955 First Division winning team, in which he scored 22 goals and was captain. He signed for the club in 1948 from Newcastle for £11,000 and scored 150 goals in 367 appearances, making him Chelsea's third highest aggregate goalscorer (level with Peter Osgood).

Bentley was also an England international and played for his country in the 1950 world cup, including the infamous 1-0 defeat to the USA. He earned twelve England caps and scored 9 goals.
