Max Hattler (born February 2 1976) is a German animator best-known for his 2005 abstract political short film “Collision”.

Biography

Max Hattler was born in Ulm, Germany. He is the son of Hellmut Hattler from German krautrock band Kraan. Max Hattler graduated with a Master of Arts in Animation in 2005 from the Royal College of Art, London. Max Hattler lives in London, England, where he is represented as a director by animation studio Bermuda Shorts [1]. He is currently directing a new short film entitled "Spin" with French production company Autour de Minuit [2].

Hattler’s films have been screened internationally, including International Film Festival Rotterdam, The Animation Show, Annecy International Animated Film Festival, Zagreb World Festival of Animated Films, Image Forum Festival, Resfest and the European Media Art Festival. His short film “Collision” (2005) won several prizes including the LUX Award for Best Experimental Film, and the Award for Best Film at 700IS Festival in Iceland [3]. It was awarded a Prädikat Wertvoll by the Filmbewertungsstelle Wiesbaden, Germany[4].
