The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education (IVE) (Chinese: 香港專業教育學院) was formed from a combination of 7 industrial colleges(Technical Institute) and 2 technical colleges in 1999. IVE is an educational institute directly under the control of the Vocational Training Council of the Hong Kong government. It offers Certificate, Professional Diploma, Diploma and Higher Dipoma programs for F.5 and F.7 school leavers and adult learners. The Hong Kong Institute of Vocational Education offers vocational sub-degree courses in nine academic disciplines.

The curriculum, covering applied science; business administration; child education and community services; construction; design, printing, textiles and clothing; hotel, service and tourism studies; information technology, electrical and electronic engineering; and mechanical, manufacturing and industrial engineering, is meticulously designed by academic and industry representatives to ensure perfect balance between theory and practice.
