Insterburg , a city in Eastern Prussia was taken over by Soviet Union communists and renamed Cherniahovsk, today in Oblast Kaliningrad Russia. Soviet Union ousted or killed the East Prussian and brought in Russians.

After the fall of the Iron Curtain a group of people introduced the Akhal-Tekes horse breed to the area and opened an Akhal-Tekes horse breeding stable.
