The Special Duties Unit (SDU 特別任務連, nicknamed 飛虎隊 "Flying Tigers") is a secretive and elite paramilitary police unit of the Hong Kong Police. Established on July 1974, it is a sub-division of the Police Tactical Unit (PTU). Its primary function includes Narcortic Raids, Hostage Rescue and other crimes which are too much for local police to handle. The unit holds regular training excerises with similar units from around the world.

The establishment of SDU can be trace back to an incident on 13th march 1971, where a plane of Philippine Airlines was hijacked and landed on the Kai Tak Airport. Though the incident was resolved peacefully, the Hong Kong Police Force began to worry about similar incident will occur in future. Thus they assemblied a "marksmen squad" on 1973 and reorganize them into SDU on 1974

Like the SWAT team, unit is known for their numerous fictional appearance in TV shows and movies in Hong Kong
